The Hill family experienced a moment that brought tears to everyone’s eyes. After six long years of waiting, they officially adopted their foster daughter Lily. They were surrounded by nearly 80 friends and supporters in a courtroom in Tyler, Texas. Lily now has something she’s always dreamed of. A forever family and a last name to call her own.
The courtroom was filled with love and people smiled through their tears as Lily and the Hills spoke to the judge. Nate Hill is Lily’s new dad and he said, “They got to see God reign today.” Adoptions like Lily’s are rare in foster care. Most kids either return to their birth parents or are adopted much sooner.
Lily’s mom Lakenya Hill said, “She has changed everything about me.” The Hills believe love has no color. With so much support around them, they have broken barriers and are showing all of us what true family looks like.
