The first day of school should be exciting. But for Conner, it was terrifying. Autistic and overwhelmed, he crumpled into a corner, tears streaming as the noise around him grew louder.
And then — something simple, yet extraordinary.
Another boy, about his age, noticed. He didn’t hesitate. He just walked over, reached for Conner’s hand, and gently led him toward the school doors.
No speeches. No questions. No judgment. Just kindness.
Later, Conner explained through happy tears: “He was so kind to me. I started crying and then he helped me. I was so happy.”
