“Only 40% of women who have children in their teens graduate high school. Today, I proudly joined that 40%.”
Three years ago, I thought I was too cool for school and dropped out. A few months later, I became pregnant at 17 — and people were quick to say I’d be nothing more than a statistic.
But then my daughter, Arionna, was born. And everything changed.
She became my reason, my push, my motivation. I wanted to give her the best life possible, and that meant going back to school — even when it meant long days, leaving her, and missing milestones. There were breakdowns, tears, and countless moments when quitting felt easier.
But every time I thought of giving up, I thought about the little girl watching me. The example I was setting.
And so, step by step, I kept going.
Today, I walk away with my diploma in hand — and with proof that I am more than a statistic. I am a mother, a graduate, and someone who refused to let the odds define her.
If anyone tells you that you can’t, remove their negativity from your life and show them the potential you’ve always had. Be the somebody they never thought you could be.
Because sometimes miracles take a little time. ✨
