My wife, Belinda House, who is a police officer in Lubbock and who was working last night came home in a rush. I knew something was wrong so I got out of bed to check on her. She and officer Benevides, and officer Sierra located a family stranded in a vehicle in Lubbock during the rain and flooding that had occurred. The family included a 10 year old and a 1 year old and they were sleeping in their car. My awesome wife came home to get food, snacks, drinks and some cash to give to the family. My wife and officer Benevides, and officer Sierra were splitting the cost of a hotel room for the family so they could get out of the vehicle. Race didn’t matter. Social status didn’t matter. Religious or political status didn’t matter. These officers did this out of the kindness of their hearts for others in need. THIS is what officers all over the country do on a daily basis and They don’t expect recognition or praise. With all the negativity in our country toward our officers I thought this needed to be posted.
