This brave 3-year-old has been fighting leukemia since December and has already faced unimaginable challenges. Just weeks after his diagnosis, AJ developed a severe fungal infection that spread to his lungs and face, leading to the removal of his upper lip. #plasticsurgery2020
During surgery, AJ spent nearly two months sedated in the ICU, fighting for his life—he even came close to dying twice in one day.
But this little warrior didn’t give up. He conquered the infection, made steady progress each week, and battled not just leukemia, but also the physical and emotional toll of his injuries.
Today, AJ is in complete remission and is set to undergo reconstructive surgery next year.
