In less than a day, my world shifted—I went from chasing toddlers to trying to meet the needs of a 7-year-old navigating his own storm. We walked on eggshells, never knowing when things might erupt. I was still learning, still unsure.
Then, as I went to close his bedroom door, he looked up and said, “Mommy, you’re a really good mom.”
I sank to the floor, overcome. That simple sentence, spoken with trust and love, was the greatest affirmation I could ever receive.
