In 2014, businessman Wang Yan of China became famous for an incredibly kind deed. He used $400,000 of his own money to purchase a dog slaughterhouse in China. He didn’t want to make money; he wanted to save the 2,000 dogs that were going to be killed there. By closing the slaughterhouse for good, Wang prevented these dogs from being killed.
After saving the dogs, Wang worked hard to take care of them, trying to find them homes where they would be loved. He put in a lot of effort and used what money he had left to keep them safe and healthy. It was a huge job, but he never gave up. Through his actions, he showed that true kindness often means giving up things and working very hard.
Wang Yan lost all his money, but he gained something much more valuable: the thanks of many animals and the respect of people all over the world. His brave action still inspires animal lovers, showing that helping those who can’t help themselves can change lives and make a difference.
