If you’re wearing mascara, you might want to save this for later.

Let me tell you about Quinten and my son, Cannonball.

On our way home, we stopped at a Starbucks in Georgia. While we were waiting in line, Quinten started chatting about basketball with some boys there. They noticed his Jordan shoes and began complimenting him.

Quinten smiled and said, “You know, boys, as you get older, you’ll realize that material things don’t matter that much.”

Then, after we got our order, he turned to Cannon and asked, “Do you really like my shoes?”

Cannon nodded excitedly.

Without hesitation, Quinten took off his shoes and handed them to Cannon.

Of course, I immediately said, “No, please don’t do that!” But Quinten just smiled and walked out of the store in his socks.

As a mom of boys, my biggest hope is to raise them to be like Quinten—kind, selfless, and giving.

The boys will never forget what he did. It was such a special moment, and I’ll always be grateful for the lesson it taught me.

Love, Coach Mummabear ❤️
