I was chatting with my mom, a registered nurse, and she mentioned how some hospitals have really strict rules about tattoos on employees. Honestly, I don’t get it.

I’ve seen my mom do incredible things. She’s rescued someone from a car about to fill with smoke, performed roadside stitches after a crash, and worked tirelessly through exhausting shifts dealing with difficult patients, only to do it all again the next day. She’s comforted families after a baby’s passing and saved a drug addict’s life.

Tattoos are just body art.

My mom has a lot of tattoos, and they’ve never impacted her dedication to her job. She’ll always be there, ready to save a life.
