I rescued two Silver Labs three months ago — Brooke and Brandi. 💕
Yesterday, I had to say goodbye to Brooke.
We rushed her to the animal hospital at 1 a.m. After several tests, the vet told us it was neurological — she was paralyzed, and even the muscles she used to breathe were shutting down. There was nothing they could do.
So, at 3 a.m., as I stroked her fur and kissed her snout, they gave her the medicine that let her fall peacefully asleep. 🌈
I know she’s running free now, breathing easy in heaven. And one day, I’ll see her again. But right now, my heart is broken. She wasn’t “just a dog” — she was family. 🐾
I had her cremated, and she’ll always be with me.
