A Mission Rooted in Kindness
Guided by a desire to bring joy to others, store owner Robbie Jacobs has donated more than 12,000 refurbished bicycles to people in need.
Jacobs opened his sports consignment shop, Back in the Game Sports, in 2020. Not long after launching the store, he encountered a moment that changed his life’s purpose.

The Moment That Started It All
One day, a soldier and his wife entered the shop searching for a bike for their young child. Robbie overheard them anxiously debating whether they could afford it.
Moved by their situation, he instinctively handed them the bike for free.

“Everyone was crying, and the rush of that feeling told me that that was the way life was really supposed to be”, Robbie recalled.
That emotional moment became the beginning of his mission: helping families who are struggling.
12,000 Bikes and Counting
Since that day, Robbie has continued giving away bicycles, more than 12,000 so far.
“The kindness is worth more to me than the profit”, he said.
He accepts donated bikes and purchases others at garage sales, then personally refurbishes each one to near-new condition.

How the Giveaway Works
Once a bike is fully restored, Robbie posts it on his social media pages and places it outside his shop, completely free for anyone who needs it.
Most days, up to 20 free bikes line the sidewalk outside Back in the Game Sports.
While many bikes go to local families, others have traveled incredibly far, even reaching the Dominican Republic.

A Career Change with Purpose
Before opening his sporting goods shop, Robbie worked in the corporate world selling copy machines. He eventually realized he wanted a more meaningful life and left his job to pursue something he loved.
He says he has never been healthier, happier, or more fulfilled.

Inspiring Others to Give Back
Robbie has discovered a unique and powerful way to support his community, and he hopes others will take inspiration from his example.
Through thousands of bicycles and countless acts of generosity, Robbie Jacobs proves that small actions, fueled by kindness, can transform lives in extraordinary ways.
