“Hip hip hooray – today’s the day!
My last chemo session 🙌🏼. After three months of weekly treatments, each lasting anywhere from 3 to 6 hours, I’m finally saying goodbye to chemo drugs, farewell to those awful side effects, and adios to my scalp cooling hat. I did it. I really did it.
Thank you to all my amazing family and friends for getting me through these wild 12 weeks. I couldn’t be more grateful for all your love and support. Huge thanks to my A-Team who drove me to chemo every single week, dropped me off, picked me up (because of course I get cancer during a pandemic 🙄). Today I feel overwhelmed with love and happiness heading into this final session, knowing I’ll be okay. Even though I tried to downplay my side effects, this journey has been CRAZY! 😂 Thank you to everyone who accepted me just as I am and let me fight cancer my own way.
If someone had told me on New Year’s Eve that in 2020 I’d lose my colon in a total colectomy, be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, AND go through a global pandemic… I’d have asked what they were drinking – and if I could have a glass too! To think it’s only June 🤦🏼♀️. Next up: surgery and radiation. Time to smash even more goals and keep destroying this little f&$@er… if there’s any of him left 😉. Word is I might have some ‘official’ good news coming soon 🥳.”
