An Understanding Husband
“This is my wife Jessica, having dinner after a 14-hour shift. She comes home from work, has just enough time to eat and get ready for bed, and then she’s up early the next day to do it all over again. She doesn’t like to be bothered in the morning, and I respect that. She takes a shower, puts her hair up, grabs her lunch, kisses me and the dog goodbye, and heads out.”
“At work, she helps people going through the worst moments of their lives. She cares for stroke victims, people in car and motorcycle accidents, those with serious injuries, and more. She doesn’t care who you are or what happened—she will be there for you.”
“She often skips lunch and hardly gets a chance to sit down. When she comes home, her shoes have walked through pain, blood, and stress, and all she wants is a moment to rest. I don’t ask her about her day—she doesn’t like to talk about work at home, and that’s okay.”
“But if she ever wants to talk, I’m here to listen. Sometimes she comes home smiling, other times she’s upset. But no matter how hard it is, she always shows up for her next shift.”
“I love her more than anything. She’s my hero. My wife is a stroke nurse.”
