After spending 1,000 days in kennels, a rescue dog named Sarah has finally found a loving home. She spent three holiday seasons in the shelter before being adopted by the Baker family in Nottinghamshire, UK.

The Bakers discovered Sarah through a plea for help on the BBC website. Joanne Baker couldn’t bear the thought of a young dog spending her life in kennels.

“Since coming home with us she has relaxed and become a loved member of our family,” Joanne commented.

She now enjoys running in the garden with the family’s other dog, Charlie.
