A husky named Loki ran into the icy water of Sloan Lake in Colorado while chasing geese. Witnesses watched in horror as the dog struggled to return to shore. As Loki grew tired, bystanders called emergency services, but feared help wouldn’t arrive in time.

That is when Jason Skidgel removed his clothes and plunged into the freezing water. He broke through the ice to reach Loki, then helped the exhausted dog swim back to safety.

Once they reached shore, the crowd rushed to help Jason, wrapping him in their own clothes and jackets to warm him.

“I may have saved Loki’s life, but they saved mine,” Jason commented in a follow-up video. “Thank you to all!”
