🇺🇸🇵🇸MIT BANS CLASS PRESIDENT FROM GRADUATION FOR PRO-PALESTINIAN SPEECH
At MIT’s graduation, class president Megha Vemuri was banned from the stage after she swapped her safe speech for one blasting MIT’s links to Israel’s military.
Vemuri:
” We’ll carry with us the stamp of the MIT name, the same name that is directly complicit in the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people, and so we carry with us the obligation to do everything we can to stop it.”
MIT says it supports free expression but cannot tolerate protests that hijack a big event.
Gaza’s war has killed over 52000 people since October and wiped out its universities.
Vemuri told her classmates to stand up and do something about it.
MIT President Sally Kornbluth told graduates to trust science and stay curious but skipped any mention of Vemuri or the protests.
