“My fiancé is a man of few words.
He doesn’t come home daily or weekly with flowers for me. He doesn’t send me long paragraph texts professing his love, and he isn’t traditionally overly romantic.
For years, that’s the kind of relationship I thought I wanted, but in reality, it’s not what I needed.
Here’s the type of man he is. He’s the type of man who pushes the buggy in the grocery store while keeping an eye on my purse.
He opens my door in the car, always. He carries the bags into the house when we come home.
He cooks dinner and tells me to sit and relax. He worries about my well-being and makes sure I take care of myself.
He cleans, and if it’s the early morning, he leaves me in bed to get more sleep because he feels like I need it.
He randomly comes home with chocolate he thinks I’ll like because he knows I’m a chocoholic. He says ‘okay’ 99.9% of the time if I say I want to do something.
He pushes every button I have sometimes, but he also makes me laugh until I can’t breathe and have tears in my eyes.
He randomly holds my hand, and when I catch him looking at me, he tells me he thinks I’m pretty and has the patience of a saint.
So his love may not be in material objects or words, but it’s in his actions. I’ll always be thankful for his love, realizing it’s just what I needed, and for him pushing the buggy.”…
