Is my level of expectations off?
Talking to a server, they said they would agree to not tip if the server only does “the bare minimum.” I said that that the bare minimum is to be greeted, have relatively prompt service, not be forgotten, and get your water filled a few times. They said thats going “above and beyond”. A server shouldn’t have to bring you napkins, fill your water or even say “hello” if you arent paying them extra for it. Is my description of bare minimum service at a resteraunt out of line?
