“I saw humanity’s better side today. I was shopping at Aldi with my kids and ran into my mom. After checking out and entering the parking lot, I saw people gathered around my mom’s vehicle. As I walked toward her vehicle, I hear a loud but little meow. Then my mom shouted to me, ‘I need your help!’
There were about five people there at the time, and my mom said a little kitty was under her vehicle but just climbed out of the engine. It was in the 80s today on blacktop, with people face down on their bellies trying to reach this tiny frightened kitty. Well, the kitty, as you can imagine, RAN and was super fast. It slipped right through us and into a hybrid engine next to my mom’s vehicle.
This little kitty was stubbornly in this engine for 30 minutes as we tried enticing it with tuna, cat food, water, sweet calls, lights, etc… The owner of the now hijacked car was getting out his socket set to begin taking off some things to reach the kitty. Finally, after lots of coaxing and following this kitty all through the engine, from side to side and up and down, one of the men with gloves was able to reach the kitty!!!
Immediately cradling the kitty, they got it water and into a truck with AC. The now crowd of 10 helpers were relieved, smiling, and laughing. We all called it the Aldi kitty. In this endeavor, over five vehicles and an RV all stopped to ask if we needed help, thinking we had car troubles. So, here’s to all the wonderful people who cared about this little kitty today! ❤️😻
UPDATE: The gentleman cuddling the kitty had a home for him.”
