Remember the jaguar rescued out of the river after being in there for countless hours in Brasil?
After the rescue and upon reaching land, the animal’s health was assessed by several experts. According to the filed report, he had received multiple shots and had more than 30 shards of gunshot to his face, head and neck.
Despite his condition appearing critical and his injuries being severe, the feline was stable. In this regard, a veterinary clinic in Manaos was tasked with providing him with the appropriate medical services. He was then moved to a specialized wildlife center, where a long process of recovery began.
After receiving necessary care, the feline was moved to a local zoo to continue its treatment, due to it having several broken teeth and bullet fragments lodged under its skin.
Caregivers report that the jaguar is in intensive care under the watchful eye of a team of biologists and veterinarians. Once recovered, he will be moved to a larger area to improve his physical condition and be reintegrated to his natural habitat.
