This is my friend’s 17-year-old nephew, Tanner. 💙
Yesterday, he was spending the day at Scissortail Park with his mom and younger siblings when he noticed someone struggling in the pond. His mom said he did a quick double take — then, without saying a word, he took off running toward the water.
She didn’t know what was happening at first, but Tanner did. Someone needed help.
Without hesitation, he jumped in and saved a drowning 2-year-old child. 🙏
In the process, Tanner suffered a head injury and needed staples, but thanks to his quick thinking and bravery, that little child is alive today. Police, firefighters, and medics arrived soon after, and the child’s mother couldn’t stop crying with gratitude.
Tanner doesn’t see himself as a hero — he’s humble, kind, and doesn’t realize just how many hearts he’s touched or how much pain he’s prevented.
