I was at my grocery store when I noticed a pregnant lady wandering around aimlessly. Her clothes were torn, her eyes heavy with worry, and her steps restless. The store was nearly empty, yet she lingered there, as if battling with herself.

I closed my counter, walked up to her, and gently asked, “Can I help you?” With tears welling, she whispered, “I can’t pay… but I need these medicines.”

Without a second thought, I took the medicines to the cashier and paid for them. She looked at me with eyes full of gratitude, but I never saw her again.

Years passed. Then, one day, as I was lost in my routine, I suddenly felt a small hand tug at me. Startled, I turned around—and there stood a little child, holding out a folded note. My heart skipped a beat as I read: “Thank you, Uncle.”

Confused, I looked up and saw a woman watching me, her eyes brimming with tears. In that moment, I recognized her—it was the same lady I had helped four years ago.

The note wasn’t just words; it was a reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can echo through years, finding its way back when you least expect it.
