“At some point in our lives, we all just need someone to talk to… The Sheriff’s Office was called to help a 9-year-old girl who was having a tough day. She climbed onto this shed and was threatening to jump off. One of our deputies climbed up to her and started a conversation that clearly needed to be had. The end result? She connected with the girl, who came down safely, and the conversation took a positive turn towards the girl’s love of fashion. Although the threat of actual harm was low, the concept that a child as young as 9 would resort to this tactic to call for help is just heartbreaking.”
