Wear Whatever The F You Want Is An Updated What Not To Wear (I’m So Glad Stacy London And Clinton Kelly Are Back On TV)

Stacy London and Clinton Kelly rose to fame with their show What Not To Wear, which ran on TLC from 2003 to 2013, and now they’re back with their new Amazon Prime show, Wear Whatever The F You Want, and the show is even better than the original. What Not To Wear was iconic in its day, with Stacy and Clinton giving people fashion advice after they were nominated by friends and family who thought they needed a makeover. However, Wear Whatever The F You Want is a much more relevant show for 2025.

Stacy is a stylist and fashion consultant who started her career as the fashion editor at Vogue and eventually moved to working as a celebrity stylist. Clinton got his start as a freelance writer and editor, writing about fitness, travel, and relationships, and later became an editor at Marie Claire, jump-starting his fashion career. The duo has reunited for Wear Whatever The F You Want, and I’m so glad they’re both back on TV. I think Wear Whatever The F You Want is the right fashion show for the modern age.

Wear Whatever The F You Want Is About Personal Style

The Clients Dictate The Direction

Stacy and Clinton’s goal in What Not To Wear was to revamp someone’s wardrobe and give fashion advice, but the advice remained largely the same during the series. Of course, slight modifications would be made based on someone’s body type and lifestyle, but the goal was not to help anyone develop their style. Rather, What Not To Wear gave each cast member roughly the same fashion sense. The Amazon Prime show is different.

Wear Whatever The F You Want is exclusively about personal style. Instead of coming to Stacy and Clinton because they dress poorly, the cast of Wear Whatever The F You Want knows their clothes don’t reflect who they are on the inside. They need help showing the world who they are through their fashion. Stacy and Clinton do an amazing job of helping clients determine what they like and want to wear, even if it’s not the style the hosts would choose.

I love that in 2025, fashion consultants are embracing uniqueness and individualism. There are billions of people on the planet, and we don’t all look the same or want to dress the same way. Wear Whatever The F You Want gives audiences the confidence to embrace their styles rather than trying to fit in with what’s trendy.

Wear Whatever The F You Want Isn’t Mean Spirited

It’s A Feel Good Show

Although What Not To Wear on TLC aimed to help people and often resulted in happy tears from the cast members, some elements don’t sit right today. Because clients were usually nominated by friends or family members, they weren’t necessarily on the show on their own accord and often didn’t want to change their style. Plus, each episode would start with Stacy and Clinton spying on that episode’s featured cast member and judging their wardrobe, which could come off as rude.

Everyone on Wear Whatever The F You Want is there by choice, and they’re running the show. Instead of looking at each outfit in a 360-degree mirror that highlighted insecurities, clients on Wear Whatever The F You Want look at each outfit in a regular mirror in their own private boutique. I think the new show is much kinder while still providing stunning transformations and emotional moments.

The clients on Wear Whatever The F You Want dictate the direction of their episodes, not Stacy and Clinton.

The fashion icons are there for support and guidance, but the Amazon Prime show is about each individual figuring out how to select clothes for their preferences. Therefore, Stacy and Clinton try to keep quiet until the client has stated what they do and do not like about any given outfit. That being said, sometimes the hosts are just too excited about an outfit that they can’t keep it in, and those moments feel sweet and genuine.

Wear Whatever The F You Want Is More Diverse

The Cast Is As Unique As Their Styles

The original What Not To Wear mainly featured women who needed a style upgrade. Because Wear Whatever The F You Want is about making style more individualistic, there is far more diversity on the show. One episode features Alan, a trans man who’s interested in androgynous, mismatched clothing. He cited Harry Styles as someone whose style he wanted to emulate. Stacy loved working with Alan because she said it was the first time she got to talk about “de-gendering fashion.”

Fashion is for everyone, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. I love that Wear Whatever The F You Want is so inclusive. Every audience member can apply something from the show to their own wardrobe because the cast was so varied.

Stacy And Clinton Are Magic On TV

Their Energy Is Infectious

Stacy and Clinton are fashion experts, and they have a lot to teach the cast of Wear Whatever The F You Want, as well as the audience. However, their style expertise isn’t the only reason I’m glad they’re back on TV. Stacy and Clinton are hilarious, and their new show had me laughing every episode. They’re even amazing in casual interviews, like the one they gave with Nightline.

One moment I particularly loved was when Stacy and Clinton joked they could have had a kid together. Clinton said many years ago, “We had a makeout sesh with a third person,” which had both of them laughing hysterically. Stacy wondered if they should share that information on TV, but decided they might as well. Not only are Stacy and Clinton constantly cracking jokes, but they’re both more open and vulnerable on Wear Whatever The F You Want than they were on What Not To Wear.

Amazon Is The Perfect Network For A Fashion Show

The Styles Are Available To The Audience

Amazon Prime is the perfect streaming service for a show about clothing and accessories, as it’s also a shopping hub. Viewers can go to Amazon after watching an episode and find a whole page of clothing pieces, shoes, purses, and more that are very similar, if not the same, as the pieces tried on in Wear Whatever The F You Want. Unlike the original What Not To Wear, the new show is making fashion accessible.

I’m so glad Stacy and Clinton have a new show that allows them to change lives without bringing anyone down or making people feel bad about themselves. The new series is uplifting, vulnerable, and approachable, thanks to its new home on Amazon Prime. I hope another season of Wear Whatever The F You Want airs soon.
