My son excitedly told me last night about a classmate who looked just like him, and how they’d be celebrating Twins Day. He was certain they had the same eyes and hair, certain they were identical.

After he went to sleep, I ran out to buy matching outfits for both boys, so they could really feel like twins the next day.

In the morning, his teacher sent a photo, and my heart just melted. The boys didn’t look alike at all. But to my son, it didn’t matter. He saw them as the same.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if we all saw the world the way two five-year-olds do?
