Slightly Delusional Intermediate Beginner Attempts Wedding Dress – 3 Questions & 1 Month Update.
I finally found a skirt I liked and Iβve been crocheting my little heart outβ¦ but now itβs time to start figuring out layering options, and Iβm getting a little stuck on patterns for how to bring it all together.
I ordered and am waiting on a gorgeous strapless corset (closes from the back) to give some structure.
Questions:
1.How, logistically, to cover the waistband?
Ideally, Iβd like to have some sort of pattern cover the elastic waistband of the skirt.. given the need for stretch when I put it on, Iβm wondering if I make a part that attaches to the corset and hangs over the skirt.. maybe I pin it the day of, if thatβs not too crazy. Or should I try something else? Maybe I cut the elastic and make a clasp so that I can directly attach the crochet patternβ¦. Iβd love advice here.
2) What pattern should I use to cover the waistband?
Iβm stuck here. There are a ton of lace edging patterns Iβve found that are cute but Iβd love any thoughts on how to make the crochet appliquΓ©s on the top and bottom appear cohesive together in some way. Iβd love suggestions on good patterns!
3) Any feedback or stylistic advice for motifs would be hugely appreciated.
