Heartbreaking discovery Anne Burrell’s husband found her unresponsive in shower, body was cold: report

Anne Burrell’s cold body was reportedly found on the shower floor by her husband hours after he had last seen her alive.

The Food Network star’s husband, Stuart Claxton, found Burrell unconscious in the bathroom early on the morning of Tuesday, June 17, law enforcement sources told TMZ on Wednesday.

Claxton had last seen his celebrity chef wife alive around 1 a.m., and he reportedly discovered her “between six and seven hours later.”

After calling 911, Claxton was allegedly advised to begin performing CPR on Burrell. She was pronounced dead at the scene once emergency services arrived at around 7:50 a.m.

Burrell’s loved ones announced her shocking passing on Tuesday in a statement. She was 55.

“Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend – her smile lit up every room she entered,” they said.

“Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world,” her family added. “Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.”

The New York City Police Department later confirmed that Burrell was found “unconscious and unresponsive” at her Brooklyn home Tuesday morning and pronounced dead at the scene.

Plus, a spokesperson for the New York City Fire Department told Page Six on Wednesday that a 911 caller claimed Burrell suffered a “cardiac arrest” and that she was “DOA [dead on arrival]” to the hospital.

Her official cause of death has not yet been confirmed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
