Trump previously announced deals in principle with the UK, China and Vietnam and a “roadmap” with India after launching a global trade war April 2 with his threat of “reciprocal” tariffs.

The president has focused on eliminating foreign nations’tariffs and other policies that restrict the sale of American-made goods and balancing US trade deficits with those countries.

Trump’s reciprocal levies are due to take effect Aug. 1 against countries that don’t make a deal.
