On Saturday, February 3, at 1:15 p.m., Trooper Robert Meyer, who was off-duty after working a night shift, was woken up by his neighbor.

The neighbor came to his house for help with her two-week-old granddaughter, who was choking. She saw a marked police car outside Trooper Meyer’s home and decided to go to him for help.

Without even putting on shoes, Trooper Meyer rushed to his neighbor’s house, which was just four houses away. When he got there, the baby was turning blue and having trouble breathing.

Using a bulb syringe that the grandmother gave him, Trooper Meyer cleared the baby’s nose and mouth, removing the mucus blocking her airway and helping her breathe again.

Shortly after, local police and medical teams arrived to help. Baby Elizabeth was taken to the hospital, treated, and released the same day. She didn’t have any serious injuries and is expected to fully recover. ❤️
