“My son arrived a full 10 weeks early at St. Peter’s, and he’s been thriving in the NICU ever since! Interestingly, my fiancé, his father, was also born prematurely, about 6 weeks early, at the very same hospital.

Last Sunday, he showed me his baby book. While looking through it, I found a photo of him as a baby being held by a nurse. I recognized her instantly! I asked him who she was, and he confirmed it was the nurse who cared for him in the NICU. His mom was so fond of her that she made sure to get a photo of them on his discharge day.

The reason I knew her is because I was convinced she was the nurse caring for our son for the past three days! David was skeptical, but we took the picture to the hospital, and three other nurses confirmed it was her!

Yesterday, she was back, caring for our baby again, so we had to recreate the picture! The last couple of weeks have been filled with worry, but it’s a relief to know our son is being cared for by the same nurse who helped the man I love when he was in the same situation.”
