“I am a transit bus operator (UTA). Today as I pulled up to a bus stop in Bountiful, Utah, I saw into the garage of a home adjacent to the bus stop. Situated inside the garage was a couple tables with canned and boxed foods, juices, water, diapers, wipes, hygiene products, and even the prized toilet paper.
There was a sign on the table the read—FREE for those who need it, take what you can use, leave something if you can (or something like that).
I know that several people on my bus were all in less than ideal circumstances, among them an elderly man in a wheelchair who lives in a dive motel in Swede town, a homeless teen and a single mom doing her best.
I pointed out the table and sign to these folks, in disbelief they exited the bus and took only what they needed and came back to the bus with very big smiles on their faces, they were so grateful to this kind and generous gesture. I was humbled at their reactions and today my heart is full.
Thank you to the fine people in that home who showed selflessness and love for our brothers and sisters.”
