A Puppy Covered in Fleas, Ticks, and Fear
Meet Moon. Her tiny body was covered with fleas and ticks, and at barely two months old, she had already endured severe neglect and abuse. For days, she wandered the streets in terror.
She longed to be touched and loved, but no one stopped to help. The little puppy roamed everywhere, finding safety only among garbage and landfill sites.

A Desperate Night and a Life-Saving Rescue
One night, while searching for food, Moon was found by volunteers from Au Family Abrigo. She was in terrible shape—her four paws were painfully swollen, and she cried in discomfort.
The volunteers rushed her to their clinic so she could finally receive the medical care she desperately needed. According to the veterinarian, Moon would likely require a blood transfusion.
A Fragile Life Held Together by Hope
For the first time, Moon slept peacefully—warm, clean, and safe. But her health was still extremely fragile. She suffered from severe anemia and deep dehydration.
Thankfully, she tested negative for both distemper and parvovirus—an enormous relief for her rescuers.

Fighting for Her Life at the Clinic
After four days at the Au Family Abrigo clinic, Moon remained mentally strong. The veterinarians believed she would survive the transfusion.
Over the next month, her condition gradually improved, though she continued to stay under veterinary care. Her spirit never faded.
From Suffering to Becoming a Shelter Star
Despite everything she had been through, Moon became one of the shelter’s most beloved dogs. She even helped volunteers during adoption fairs—greeting people with her gentle, patient nature.
One day, a couple noticed her. They couldn’t forget her.

A Forever Home at Last
“Every adoption fair she comes to help us care for the animals who are up for adoption. Today she came with one purpose: ADOPT THE MOON. Moon has a family now!”

A new life. A new beginning. A puppy finally home.
