A Video Viewed Over 100 Million Times
A Malaysian woman’s TikTok video showing her severe skin changes during pregnancy has taken the internet by storm, amassing 104 million views in just three days. Shared by user @ayyitslala, the clip documents how her skin drastically transformed while she was expecting, leaving her face covered in a red, painful rash, effects she is still managing even months after giving birth.

What the Viral Video Shows
The woman, identified on Instagram as Farah Faizal, explained that her face turned extremely red and textured during pregnancy. She did not share her doctors’ official diagnosis, but the dramatic change stunned viewers, who left thousands of comments reacting to her appearance.

Some commenters were supportive, while others were harsh, calling the video “a birth control ad”, joking that she should “sue her husband”, and making cruel remarks about pregnancy. One user wrote, “On today’s episode of ‘Reasons not to get pregnant,’ we have THIS. No thanks.”
Thankfully, Farah updated followers, noting that her skin has improved significantly since giving birth. Still, many remain curious about what caused the reaction.
Doctor Weighs In on the Possible Cause
Pediatric allergist Dr. Zachary Rubin shared his professional insights on Instagram, offering a possible explanation while emphasizing he could not diagnose her directly.
He congratulated Farah on her baby and explained that pregnancy can trigger major hormonal shifts that affect skin health and may lead to unusual rashes.
He suggested her symptoms could resemble rosacea fulminans, also known as pyoderma faciale, a rare, severe form of rosacea characterized by large, red nodules across the face.
“This condition usually affects younger women, comes on abruptly, and rarely lasts beyond a year,” he said. Treatments often vary, but antibiotics and steroids have been used in similar cases.
Rubin noted that he was glad to see Farah’s skin improving postpartum.

Farah Shares Updates Since Giving Birth
Farah has continued updating her followers, explaining that she has been receiving professional treatments and caring for her skin diligently.
She wrote:
“I’m grateful that I haven’t had morning sickness, but my face changed 100%. If you don’t have anything nice to say, please don’t reply. Please have empathy. I just want to express my feelings.”
Many viewers also asked whether her husband had been supportive throughout her journey. Farah responded with a heartfelt message:
“My husband was my safe space throughout my pregnancy. He calmed every fear, held me through every breakdown, and constantly reminded me I was beautiful, strong, and loved. He never missed a check-up. His love made everything feel manageable.”

Addressing the Hate Comments
In response to relentless criticism of her appearance, Farah shared another video accompanied by a strong message:
“This is going to be my last time addressing this. I don’t owe anyone an explanation. But it affects my mental health when people dismiss what pregnancy hormones can do to a woman’s body and emotions.”
She continued:
“Yes, I have acne scars. Yes, my skin has texture. I’m human, not a Barbie doll. Real skin has texture. Filters don’t hide who I am, they just smooth what cameras exaggerate. It’s still me, still my face, still my truth.”
